Thanks for responding but its a leak from the timing chain cover not the valve cover. I was quoted at $1700 to fix this. What I am trying to determine is whether a water pump replacement would have meant the timing chain cover was removed to cause the increase in the leak?

Update: I have been monitoring this leak for several months now and there is no change in the oil level. It is either a very small seep or is no longer seeping. It doesn't appear to be worth fixing it.
