Replacing 2016 Trail Premium with a newer model

I think y'all talked me into keeping it.

Replacing 2016 Trail Premium with a newer model

Interesting. I assumed that any keyless start would have remote start with it. And yes, my Tacoma has it and having to restart is annoying as f. Further, the whole Taco community just went through this ridiculous process where Toyota apparently disabled it for anyone that was not subscribed...

Replacing 2016 Trail Premium with a newer model

Sorry, folks, I've been a bit distracted looking at newer models. To answer some of the questions... First, it has just under 100K miles and yes, it will be for sale very shortly (pm me if interested). It's in good to very good condition. KBB gave me an estimated private party sale of about...

Replacing 2016 Trail Premium with a newer model

I'm resetting the whole fleet and want to get a newer/lower mileage 4R to replace our 2016. I never modified it in any way but should have leveled or slightly lifted it to deal with the rake. I think it has KDSS and I vaguely recall that makes it more difficult/expensive to modify the...

    Paralyzed by indecision on tires

Just wanted to post an update. They probably have 6-7K miles on them by now. There was the typical 68mph wobble that was there before the tires, and it's still there. Road noise is fine, wet traction seems fine. They haven't had much off-pavement stuff, but they've handled it fine. I'd...

    Paralyzed by indecision on tires

UPDATE: I went with the Trail Terrain. Honestly, I'm not even sure why, other than maybe Costco could source them more quickly than any of the other options. And we had a slow leak, so this needed to be done. They're ridiculously cheap at Costco. I think it was somewhere around $700 out...

    Paralyzed by indecision on tires

I generally agree, but also - some of the comments in this thread, and others that I've read, add some confirmation to my experience. For example, I vaguely remember the T/A's being a bit slippery in the rain. TBF, that was probably 25 years ago. But I also remember choosing another brand to...

    Paralyzed by indecision on tires

That was my experience with the T/A's from years ago. I had them on an XJ and they were slippery. That's the main reason why I have some reservations about the KO2.

    Paralyzed by indecision on tires

Ha! If I even hinted at the idea, Mrs K would be packed and ready to go in 10 minutes.

    Paralyzed by indecision on tires

Yeah, you're right. I need to let go of the delusion that we're going to overland to South America, and just do the right thing and get the LTX. Now, one other question - get the LT or P?

    Paralyzed by indecision on tires

Yes, the KOs are probably overkill. I'm a bit nervous about using a brand new tire. But the idea is probably spot on. It's kind of the same as the Rugged Terrain, isn't it? The ironic thing about all of this indecision is that it's unlikely that I'll ever been in a situation where the tires...

    Paralyzed by indecision on tires

I'm either using my local tire store, who have been great to work with for various other issues, or Costco. Doesn't look like either carry Toyos.

    One vote for K/O's.

    Paralyzed by indecision on tires

2016 Trail Premium - stock with no plans to lift. It spends 95% of its life on-road. Off road is limited to fire roads, gravel, etc. - mild conditions occasionally in 4wd just for safety. Rarely experience snow (once per year), but we'll go out if it's on the ground. The sensible thing to...

    Rear latch malfunction

I don't think we've ever used the rear hatch cylinder. I did try it, but it didn't have any effect on the actuator. I dropped it at the dealer this morning just because I don't have the time to deal with this right now. The first call that I got from them - "we found the problem - there was...
