I've been slowly pushing on. Found some decent rust under the windscreen, which is a pain. Starting at the bottom working my way up though (before and after photos of the work ive done so far).

Nice! I managed to get it for the right price and then got lucky with scrounging a donar with 90% of what I need locally as well. Did you find one? Fuel tank back in, so one section done.

A few photos of the new bits and pieces on the engine and then a photo of the chassis after a looooot of scrubbing. Surface rust isn't anywhere near as bad I thought which is great, but will still do some wire wheeling and painting. Also if anyone knows how to fix my typo in the thread title...

#Rustytoyotagarage Currently have 2 4rs and an mr2. Eyeing off an RA40 to add. This is the paint I used: Dupli-Color High Heat Aerosol Paint Black 340g | Supercheap Auto Was going to get chassis paint but I've got about 4 cans of this on the shelf and its pretty hardy.

Started working underneath to clean up the decades of dirt and surface rust.

I've replaced the oil filter, oil, coolant, radiator hoses, thermostat, and water pump. Cleaned up the inlets and outlets. Gave the radiator a paint. Doesnt look like i took a photo of it all back in. The brown green is the "coolant" that came out. I dont think the thermostat had ever been...
