Just had it in for recall work today, and had them take a look at the whine sound while in. They insist the whine is coming from the alternator and say it needs to be replaced, at $1,200. Based on everyones comments here, I think I'm going to hold out on getting that replaced.

Mine just started making the same noise at just under 40K miles. Irritating for sure. Will be taking it in for service due to recall, so will have them check this out and see if they find anything.

I take it you installed the Firestone airbags. Which model? Nice build by the way. Looks almost identical to mine.

Well, I finally got to the dealer to check on this, and they did in fact reproduce the clunk and replace them with the lift on. The service itself was a bit questionable, but they did do the job, and I now have a much improved ride. The front end now makes no noise and it's silky smooth.

Thanks for the responses. I went with the $250 voucher as that is what they initially offered, and it's more than fair as they had my truck for 4 days to do a one day job.

Hmmm! I wonder what the dealer will say/do if the truck has lift on it. I have the clunk but have the Toytec TRD Lift installed. Hope they don't make me take off the lift before taking it in for service. Heading out on a two week trip, so will find out when I get back. Good to hear they found...

I have this lift installed and am leaving on my first fully loaded trip this weekend. Wife, two kids, cargo area completely loaded, Gobi rack completely loaded, etc. I was going to get airbags (airlift) installed today and the shop just called and said they will not work with the rear springs...

Measures about 4 1/2" in the front and 6 1/2" in the back at the widest point. If you got them flat they would be a bit wider but I think they are fine as is. I like them angled. I've got a 2" lift as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've got Budbuilt bumpouts with full tread plating, standard build, i.e. angled upward and not flat. They are more than adequate to be used as steps for getting into and out of the vehicle. I've been doing a lot of work on the truck lately (mounting Rigid lights, accessories to the Gobi, etc.)...

As far as I know they no longer make it. I purchased the adapter back in Dec 2015 but it was on back order due to no supplier. By end of Jan they refunded my money and put me on a wait list. By March I made my own at a fraction of the cost. I may still be on the wait list but have not been...
