    Lower Control Arm Dilemma

If they're not seized, don't replace them. Especially if you have the OE ones. Just anti-sieze them.

    Lower Control Arm Dilemma

Good luck, sawzall won't cut them out. Trust me. You're gonna need a grinder and cutoff disks. It's a pretty sketchy spot, too.

V8 Full-Time 4WD, what do you do when you blow a CV offroad?

Question is, what happens to the center differential when this is done? Will it grenade? Can anyone shed any light on this? This is an idea. I wonder what risks are involved here... Would suck to damage the rig any more.

V8 Full-Time 4WD, what do you do when you blow a CV offroad?

Hey all, I've had this silly question on my mind. What the heck do you do when you blow out a CV joint on the trail and don't have a replacement? You can't drive home because you can't take it out of 4WD... What about towing it out the road to get it on a trailer or flat deck? Do you just let...

    eBay uniball control arms?

Yup! If one could source non-poly bushings for these, cut the old ones out and use upgraded hardware everywhere, they would be fantastic. I will absolutely be ordering a pair when they are back in stock, and will be doing a full upgrade on them. I will post a guide with parts list and what-not.

What did you do with your 4runner today?

Got bored, decided to replace my transfer case output seals... And cleaned up the companion flange seal face too. Also, bonus mall crawl shot when testing out my new rear sway bar end links.

Custom(ish) Extended Rear Sway Bar Links Write-Up

Hey! Thanks for posting this! I decided to make a set of these after installing my Bilsteins and 2.5 rear lift. I decided to make a slight change to the build procedure. Instead of cutting the sleeves that go in the sway bar hole, I drilled out the bushings so that the sleeves can fit into...

    Possible future frame service campaign

Jumping in on this bandwagon. 2004 SR5 V8, spent most of it's life in Quebec, then the past 4 years or so in Western Canada. I can tell you that virtually every component underneath had some serious surface rust. Literally everything has been a pain to come off, and requires a sparkle...

Changing Bilstein ride height without removing strut...

But was this to raise or lower the height? If you tried to raise it, of course you couldn't compress it enough. It only needs to come up about an inch to access the snap ring holding the spring perch.

Changing Bilstein ride height without removing strut...

I doubt it would be cheaper, I'm in Canada. Will be at least 10 days before I can have parts to fix everything, and 10 days of driving will wear my tires to death. I agree, this is a very dangerous operation. I'm going to attempt to lock out the spring in the compressed position some how. My...

Changing Bilstein ride height without removing strut...

This was my logic, too. I just wanted to quickly post and ask, just in case there is something I am overlooking...

Changing Bilstein ride height without removing strut...

Hey all, Just wondering if there are any limitations on lowering my ride height from the 2.5" spring perch position to the stock position with just a couple spring compressors? I installed my Bilsteins and was not able to get an alignment done due to seized cam bolts, and I need to return...

    DIY lift gate lock assembly

Having some trouble getting the rear latch open. I've tried pulling the smaller of the two levers to no avail. No matter how much rust remover I put on it and how hard I pull, it won't budge. I suspect that the latch mechanism may be rusted solid. Does anyone know how to access the latching...

    4Th Gen Chat Thread

Hey all, Didn't want to start a whole new thread if I didn't have to. I picked up some FJ springs, and ordered Bilstein 5100's to go along with them. I plan on using the highest spring perch position in the front, which shield yield about 2.5" of lift, plus the ~0.5" from the FJ springs. I am...
