My 2000 just started doing the same thing ~ seems to stall worse with A/C on at red light/idle. Going to have code read & follow the IAC chain of fixes...

~ I have same model about to hit 200K miles ~ I would suggest asking for owner's repair file and base decision on that. IMO ~ all of the repairs to date I've faced (owner since 60K miles) were normal maintenance and/or wear/tear ~ see the sticky section on 3rd gen as the list of issues runs...

I had a run in with the O2 sensors ages ago on my 2000; got the same code, replaced & that cleared that up ~ however, when it's colder/damp outside I have the same issue which is from what I understand, just the way it is for the 2000's ~ they eat O2 sensors.

Background: 2000 4Runner ~ Bought 2003 w/70K miles ~ I've done all the maintenance necessary for the vehicle (oil changes, tires, brakes, belts, shocks/struts, plugs, you name it for the past ten years) ~ bringing it in for fuel filter & two rear CAM plug replacement ($498 quote for labor/parts)...

2000 4Runner ~ bought in 2003 with 70K ~ 199,479 today ~ besides basic maintenance in last ten years ~ everything mentioned under "buyers guide" has been pretty true with mine ~ have a leak right now & looking to replace CAM plugs & fuel filter shortly.
