200K Maintenance Question

Background: 2000 4Runner ~ Bought 2003 w/70K miles ~ I've done all the maintenance necessary for the vehicle (oil changes, tires, brakes, belts, shocks/struts, plugs, you name it for the past ten years) ~ bringing it in for fuel filter & two rear CAM plug replacement ($498 quote for labor/parts) wondering how that sounds ~ also since I'm hitting 200K within the next month ~ what about the lower ball joint issue? I have not had them replaced in my ten years of ownership & by the photos I've seen on this forum, I do not want to have them blow out while I'm driving from one side of Florida to the other at 70 mph ~ thoughts and what's a good estimate for the repair?

I'd really like to hit 300K in this vehicle. I ended up trading around from 2001 to 2002 to 2003 & then back into the 2000. It's not my favorite one of the bunch (that would be my 2001 & 2003 as both were the sport editions in black with sunroofs) but its the one I'm still driving...

I'm still hoping for some thoughts on this ~ update:

So here's the maintenance/repair needs:

Fuel Filter
Lower ball joints (figured as much)
Gasket seals/CAM plugs ~ last done in January of 2012

recap: I'm at 199,650 right now ~ I did the gasket job two years & talked to my mechanic about this one & it's all about the age & seals not fitting properly. If you have 200K or more on your 20004Runner how have you felt about this?

I'm almost thinking that if this is another $1k job, I'm almost better trading it & getting something newer just over 100K with no issues. I love my SUV to death & it really didn't start costing anything until I hit 150K miles.

I'm so confused :faint2::eek:
