Ok I'm thinking about buying a broke down third gen to rescue. But, I think I might have to tow it with my third gen 180+ miles home. Do you think this will be a good or bad plan of action.

2001 sr5 4x4 with 147,00 miles. Loads of dealership maintenance records and it shows.

Check auto trader in Texas for 4x4 third gens. Most of them have 230k+ miles and still listed at $7500 or more. These things are so ridiculously expensive. I jumped all over mine when I came across it considering the mileage and great shape it is in.

I third all of the above haha I paid $4800 for my 2001 sr5 with 145000 on it.

Good to know as I have been thinking about putting an amp under the rear seats but wasn't sure if they would still fold down. I am trying to install a small audio setup that won't get in the way of camping and hauling.

Well I checked all vsv valves and they are all properly switching. Also checked hoses and couldn't find any leaks so I'm still not sure what it could be. I did find two hoses backwards on the valves under the hood so I hope that is what was turning the light on.

I bought them on rock auto for my 01 for $30 and it lifted mine 2". I love them, rides a hell of a lot better than the old ones. I also installed a set of heavy duty Kyb shocks at the same time.
