2016 SR5 - what fuse slot can I use between 5-25A that gets constant power?

Installing a Red Tiger Dash Cam hardwire kit and for the B+ "normally powered fuse" I need to take into something with constant power. Here is my fuse box (click the Driver's Side Fuse Box link). 1. Can I use any of those blank fuse slots? If so, does anyone know if any receive constant power...

Are rear diff service and trans fluid exchange both easy for a beginner?

I have all the tools for the rear diff, so I think I may try that on my own and then have the transmission service done by a mechanic. Any reason to have Toyota do that over my local mechanic? Toyota is $120 more than what my mechanic charges for it, but if they have any special tools for it...

Potential upgrade from '16 to '21

You can also buy aftermarket gauge clusters from $300 - $1000 that are full LCD displays and also vastly superior to the stock, even from the later model 5th gens. Install is very easy too. Wonder if the 20/21 cluster is interchangeable with earlier models? If so, I know you can find those used...

Are rear diff service and trans fluid exchange both easy for a beginner?

I have a 2016 SR5 2WD with 72000 miles and the dealer said I need both of these services. I am a novice and have recently completed brake fluid exchange, power steering flush, drive belt replacement, and coolant exchange. I just watched T4R Garage's video on differential service and it looks...

How difficult is a power steering flush for a beginner?

Great list of maintenance items and schedule. Going to save this for the future. I did complete the PS flush and a brake fluid flush this weekend and they were surprisingly easy, though I did have some issues (especially doing the brake flush solo) and learned some things. I like the idea of...

Potential upgrade from '16 to '21

I wouldn't use a new head unit at all in an upgrade decision. You can spend $550 and get a Dasaita V12 which is vastly superior to the upgraded head units in the '21 model.

Is this the correct way to use a floor jack and jack stands?

Thank you very much for this insight. I'm returning it and will get a new jack and jack stands to handle this truck. I just didn't want to spend $200 on some of the recommended jacks I've seen on this forum.

How difficult is a power steering flush for a beginner?

Never in my life have I experienced anything as miserable or difficult as trying to remove my power steering return line. I can move it around the nozzle pretty easily but for the life of me, cannot make any progression on moving it down the nipple, despite using WD40, sticking screwdrivers and...

Is this the correct way to use a floor jack and jack stands?

What's wrong with the floor jack? It admittedly is the cheapest they had, but it can handle 4k lbs and the 4runner weighs 4500 lbs so I figured it would be fine since I'm not lifting the entire weight.

Is this the correct way to use a floor jack and jack stands?

Lifting the front end a bit to do a power steering flush and I bought a Die Hard 2 ton floor jack and some jack stands, which I have never used before. Is that hole the correct place in the front/crossbeam to position the floor jack? The diagram and videos I watched seem to indicate yes, but I...

How difficult is a power steering flush for a beginner?

I've got my 1 gallon of Valvoline ATF and have watched about ten Youtube videos and am ready to start this project finally, but I don't have floor jacks to lift the car so I can turn the steering wheel to pump out the fluid. Was going to order a 3/8 double barb and some jack stands from Amazon...

Which of these maintenance items could I possibly do myself?

Thanks to you and everyone else letting me know I don't need fuel service. The dealer actually wants $300 for this and my local place quoted me $240. I'll get a bottle of fuel injector cleaner and add it to my gas tank. I have the list of services they gave me and it has front differential...

Which of these maintenance items could I possibly do myself?

Have a 2016 SR5 with 72000 miles and the dealership showed I have the below items due: 1. Complete Fuel Service (EFI/TEC) - $240 2. Brake Fluid Exchange - $170 3. Trans Fluid Exchange Service Trucks - $280 4. Rear Differential Service - $75 The only maintenance I've ever done on a car was...

Is power steering flush something I can do on my own?

I've never done any auto maintenance until recently, when I just did a drive belt replacement and a coolant flush, which I found super easy following the T4R Garage youtube videos. If I can do those, can I also do a PS flush? And if so, are there any good videos that show complete beginners...

    Is this coolant level low?

Thanks for the advice. I just purchased an OEM (part 16401-31830) from a dealer for $30 shipped. Seems expensive but I didn't want to risk a non OEM part from Rockauto and couldn't find OEM on a site like Amazon. Will replace the cap when I do the flush. I have two gallons of OEM coolant as well.
