Really I didn't know they can even do that. I might have to ask that question this next winter.
The only thing that touches the top where I go is the draped strips that slide over the top. I just try not to have anything that would catch those...
I have the full baja rack on mine. I go though the car wash daily.... I use the Tommy Car Wash, it is a brand new very nice car wash. Never had a problem and its worth it during the winter. They heavily salt the roads here...
I was against doing the ladder until my kids shut all the doors while I was up on top of the 4runner. LOL I went right inside and had one in a few days....LOL
Then climbing down on the side everytime was a bit sketchy. It just is not safe and the ladder is super easy. Plus the kids enjoy...

You don't even need to go out of H4F. This thing is a machine in the snow. Literally foot to the floor and point it in the direction you want to go...LOL and it goes! Absolutely a great snow rig.
So have you not had a keyed ignition go out on you? The old days I would have one key to get in the door and a different key to turn the ignition over.... LOL
