I would estimate more in the $4.5k+ range...and if there is frame damage maybe $6k+ I had a similar accident on my 2014 with at the time 60,000mi and I was paid out about $7,350.00. I don't know if being in NY made a difference.

I used the extension wand in hard to reach places, and made sure to coat inside the frame wherever possible. I did this coating last october, had a generally mild winter(10-12 days of salted roads). At this time there are no signs of corrosion and i would recommend fluid film.
