Adventure-Yeti's in action.
I can say, that the Ecotechne rack holds an ARB Awning and Tepui Ayer tent just fine, and sturdy as heck. Driving up to Joshua Tree I was doing 80mph and the tent/awning didn't budge. We did some mild off-roading as well, no problems.

Got my rack yesterday (6th batch) and installed. Missing a couple sets of bolts, but otherwise a solid roof rack! Ran out of time to put the rooftop tent back on - plan to put it up tomorrow.

Installed the tent today...after some deliberation, it was decided that the only way to mount my CVT was flipping the cross bars upside down to gain some clearance to torque down the bolts. Drilled new holes through the cross bars to center the tent

happy with the result, plan to keep it this way until I re-engineer some way to mount the tent without flipping the crossbars and having it sit flush with the entire rack

Can anyone comment on the MPG loss/decrease they see with their Ecotechne rack? I assume it's around 1mpg with the low profile design?

Yes, or less. I don't think I noticed any mpg loss with rack only. If anything 1mpg or less probably more due to extra 100lbs on the roof.
I have the prinsu rack now and noticing about 2mpg hit.

Would anyone with the rack let me know if you could attach kayak racks(j-hooks) or a bike tray to the cross bars?

At least I know its possible with Thule. Cant imagine Yakima would be that much different. Just need some better pics.

Weight and modularity. Eco 90lbs vs prinsu 40 lbs. Easier to mount things on prinsus crossbars. Both have the low profile good looks that I like.

You can add almost anything to it if you own a drill and are not shy of using it.

Having never owned this type of rack I guess that’s my point. Having always owned Yakima or thule with a very specific focus in mind you you were limited in a more broader sense. With this type of rack I’m ok with making adjustments with the scope of utility being larger.

has anyone successfully mounted an rtt to the version 1. Im looking at ordering one ad would like to heard any input on what has been mounted so far. I know rorck has done that hard top which I'm leaning towards doing but i jus wanna hear any input on any other hard shells or soft that may give me a better idea on choices. i know cvt is doing a group buy right now and was looking at their hard top since its already on sale, too bad they won't add the extra discount towards it i would of already pulled the trigger. thanks guys!
