Thanks for responding. To clarify, it still has the factory head unit, and there is some faint sound with buzzing out of the driver's side door speaker. The passenger side is completely silent. The rear door speakers work fine.

Pardon me if this is a dumb question, I'm not real familiar with this stuff... I just got a '97 4runner that doesn't have any sound from the front speakers, so I was wanting a relatively quick and easy way to fix that. Do I need to replace both the door speakers and the separate tweeters, or...
