My 2004 lets me keep the recirc on in any setting. I don’t like how the 5th gen won’t let me do the same. I also find it odd that it somehow turns itself off on its own. If I could leave it on forever I would, just like in my 2004. I want to keep the outside air and fumes out of my car.

So the underlined quote is for the 25’ distance? They did their test based on a 35’ distance. The actual article isn’t very clear. Sounds like they used the SAE guidelines which state 25’ away, but they adjusted the SAE reference points for their 35’ test. Is that your understanding as well?

I used a wall on some flat ground and found my headlights were 32” at 25’! Adjusted them up 8” and i can see!!!! Haven’t been flashed yet, so I think it’s good to go. Thanks for sharing your cutoff height!

I’d like to keep grime, rocks, and debris from hitting the side of my 4Runner. I live in the desert so there’s always crap on the roads. Do you still have your mudflaps? I’d like to see if I could retrofit them!!

Thanks, the grey looks great too! I haven’t found anything. Thinking I might have to use a dremel on the Toyota mud flaps to make them fit, if it’s even possible. Let me know if you find anything.

Has anyone compared the difference between the stock filter and a k&n or equivalent in this intake? Is there more throttle response or sound between the two?
