Crap. I Think Its My Torque Converter...

the best way to listen to it is when the truck is raised on a lifter...safer and you can really focus on the sound source.

Crap. I Think Its My Torque Converter...

you really have to go down there and listen closely- we actually thought they were coming from the transmission major parts but we found out that my whine actually came straight from the ATF pan....it was being produced by one of the solenoids... goodluck.

Shaking/Hesitation when taking foot of brake slowly?

good idea^ aside from draining the ATF pan, before replacing fluid, you may want to drop the pan, clean the filter and soleniods... this one i have done with assistance from my mechanic friend... my tranny was whirring also before. no whirring now.

Shaking/Hesitation when taking foot of brake slowly?

if the fluid has not been changed for a while or if it is not reddish anymore or has a burnt smell, you may want to drain and replace...better be safe than sorry.

    Recent transmission fluid leak

i think that's red coolant- ATF is oil. it will be dark and "oily" not white when it dries up.

mystery aroma and it's kinda nasty.

it is the heater core under the passenger seat- you can put your nose there and smell the core just under the seat... am living in asia and i do not need it..if you also don't need the heater and have no time repairing the leak- remove the fuse under the dashboard - left side...the fuse cover...

    Mystery Clunk...

clunking at the rear checklist: 1- 2 shocks 2- panhard bar bushes 3- 2 lower control arm bushes ( 2 each) 4- 2 upper control arm bushes ( 2 each) if your 4runner is near 10 years or over, better to replace them all. it will wear in a couple of years anyway. i had worn out panhard bushes but i...

    My wheel bearings bad?

try to check your transmission fluid- -take the dipstick and check the color- should be RED and the smell should NOT be like burnt... if not RED and/or has a burnt smell, time for a trans fluid change and flush...safer to do this first before touching anything in your transmission...

    About rear sag

i just bought an airlift 1000 - it's way more practical than buying new springs, etc... has been with me for 2 years...no problem whatsoever...

Engine cranks 3 times too long

am waiting for gerdo's update...my issues are almost a mirror-image of his...i have done all of the replacements he did except the CPS... if he replaces the fuel pump and it works, i am definitely replacing mine... am tired in trying to get a fix for this. :(
