help me understand...how does front end weight affect the life of UCA ball joint? the joint moves up and down but i dont think increased weight is applied to the joint if you add vehicle weight. Or am i wrong??

I have lived in Tennessee all my life. Rust is not an issue here. Unless you bought a northern vehicle it should not be anything but surface rust at most. What does it look like under there...post a pic.

anyone have any experience yet with mud or slick offroad conditions? Do they pack up like an AT? I have the last gen duratrac and they did well, and would not hold normal mud. I ask about the new ones as the side lugs appear to have less space in between them.

If you are doing it yourself, my opinion would be to stick the factory plug with magnet. While it is not a definitive test, checking the plug for excessive metal could be a early warning sign of internal wear issues. Or on the flip side, it is also reassurance that your baby is in good health.
