That's what I did on eBay and found the same ones. I don't want a used one, because I've had enough problems with new ones on my car. But can anyone else assure me that the 97's work for the 98's?

Well there wasn't anything for a 4Runner before '99 on there. I don't understand why they are hard to find. Mine is a '98.

Thanks for the help. I talked to a mechanic friend, he pretty much said the same thing. It was his shop that skipped over it when I bought the car and got it checked out, so he said he might be able to help out with it. So we'll see about that part. I'm not in a big hurry to spend the money...

It's not that the window catches on the outside, it looks and sounds like it catches on the inside of the door panel. Because it only moves down a couple inches like I said, and you see the wiper shake from the INSIDE like the bottom of the window hits. I will try it with the key in the back...
