yea i think you're right i was confusing the window being closed for door.. Figured it out late last night someone had repaired a broken wire in the loom going from the body to the hatch. The solder connection was not very good and had split causing the wires to connect fine with the door open...

I was guessing the door ajar sensor had was some how tied into the system.. ie if the hatch is open it stops the rear window from working. Do the 3rd gens not have a re hatch sensor tied in like that?
