    *** V6 Head Gasket Action Request ***

Add this info Production date 10/04 Cylinder 6 0-Tahara Also notice the abundance of 4 and 6 as the problem. Photos posted of others gasket failure and my gasket failure are virtually identical. The gasket fails in the area between the 4 and 6 cylinder.

    P0306 head gasket,

design flaw It is a definite design flaw as photos of failures are identical, and the gasket has been redesigned by Toyota. Easiest way to check if p0306 is the head gasket (which most times it will be), is to smell your coolant. If it smells like gas instead of just antifreeze, it is...

    Oil recommendation?

Mobil 1 EP, liquid gold I have used Mobil 1 EP for years with a 13-15k mile OCI. Never a mechanical issue other than the failure of the head gasket in my 2005 4 runner due to poor design on Toyota's part. Engine shop that did the head gasket @ 180k miles said my engine was spotless on the...

    blown head gaskets estimate

Gasket redesigned The new gasket seemed much more substantial than the one that was removed. It is an issue with the original gasket as they all fail in the same spot. I have 26000 miles since the rebuild, runs like a top. I plan on another 100k+. Buying a used motor wasn't really an...

Mechanic to fix head gasket issue

Not cheap. My repair with all of your stuff (machining, water pump, etc.), plus a valve job because a couple were burnt, cost a total of $3159. I had a professional engine rebuilder do the job as I have known him for 30 years. No small repair, but not one issue since, that was 26000 miles ago.

    Front wiper switch issues

So my front wipers had some issues. They would not run on low speed. They would not turn off in the off position, would just freeze in position. Intermittent and high settings both worked appropriately. I removed the shroud and pulled the switch assembly. I had read another post about...

    blown head gaskets estimate

$1200 sounds very cheap. My head gasket replacement cost $3159.98. Went around 180k miles. Very complete job done by an engine shop that specializes in rebuilds, race car motors, etc. I've known the guy for 30 years. Went through the whole motor. Bottom end was all good, top end machined...

    2004 Limited Edition 4Runner 4X4 - Head Gasket

p0306 stikes again Thought I had a misfire, changed the plugs, no better. Pulled the code and checked the forums. Yep, another toasted HG. One whiff of the antifreeze told me it had hydrocarbons mixed in. Got an estimate of $1800 to $2000 for HG plus h2o pump replacement at an indie...
