New Cat = Big gas milage gains.

Mine didn't throw a code either...for about 5,000 miles on the new cat. Now I can't get rid of the P0420 code. Glad your mileage went up though. Hopefully you don't get a code issue like me.

    Pulling Stumps=deployed airbags

I agree that seems like a situation that would have made them go off. I guess the circumstances have to be just right. Still seems crazy to me. Like there was a malfunction of the OPs airbags. I agree that they need to go off if rear ended at a light or similar, but I also don't want to back...

Help me choose the right gun...

Man, I'm a sucker for Colt 1911s. I don't have one yet but every time I consider getting a handgun, I can't help but want one of these. I agree, Colt is the way to go!

    Moving to Seattle

Thanks for the responses guys! I'm really pretty pumped about the move and seeing some new places. Sounds like rent will not be too bad after all. Ironically my fiance has a subaru also, and since my runner is 2wd, i might have to borrow hers as well...

    Moving to Seattle

Hey guys, looks like I'll be headed to Seattle mid-July. My fiance will be going to grad school up there and I'll be tagging along. I had a couple questions for you guys living up there. Is the rent as outrageous as people make it sound every time I tell them I'm moving to Seattle? We'll be...

You think 4Runner prices are high in your area...

This got me rolling haha. I hope that you have zero issues. Maybe I just have bad luck. Or have owned too many GM vehicles...:hiding: To get back on topic, I still can't believe that price. Better yet, I can't believe that someone would drop the cash on it.

You think 4Runner prices are high in your area...

I should say, I do agree that synthetic is better and I use it nonetheless. I was just saying that I have never had a new vehicle, so I'm not always sure of the PO's upkeep. I would run synthetic from the beginning if given the choice. I was disagreeing that an engine had major problems if (when...

You think 4Runner prices are high in your area...

I agree. I have had leaks come up in rear mains and axle seals directly after fluid changes to synthetic. You won't convince me that it's a myth.

    Re-built V6

It could just be the particular fuel gauge on your 2000. They are known to fall quickly within the first part of the tank. Until you actually calculate the mileage, you may not have a problem at all.

    Error codes confuse me

Sorry, should have specified. The sensor was a Denso replacement, and the cat was an aftermarket magnaflow, which seems to be the culprit. What's interesting is the CEL went off for about 50 miles the other day (after sensor replacement, code reset, then CEL came back on) then returned. If the...

    Error codes confuse me

Not to thread jack, but I'm having the same issue with a P0420, I have a new cat (stock was stolen) with less than 15,000 miles on it, and I just replaced the rear sensor to try and fix the code. Does this mean the only other option is an exhaust leak?

Need help with a system NEWBIE

I agree, two subs can also be too much. One good sub with the right wattage can make a world of difference. My one 10" Kicker has been mistaken for multiple subs many times. It's all about following specs for wattage and enclosures. The fun part about audio is that you can always upgrade. Start...

    2001 Sport Edition 2wd 4runner value???

I bought mine coming on a year ago. 2wd, but extremely clean and well maintained. 4wd wasn't necessary for me, i just needed a reliable vehicle since i am on the road a lot. 3.4, auto. Most people here will say I paid too much at 7900, but I was in a time crunch to buy and this was the best one...

    Oxygen Sensor Question

I just ordered a rear sensor off amazon and got it in today. The box is denso and the part number is 234-4153. I didn't check the numbers on the new sensor before i put it in, but the old sensor is OE or replacement OE from the PO. The old sensor reads "TOYOTA 89465-35350 DENSO 7981". The new...

    Urgent help needed!

Can you get someone to take you to the parts store first thing tomorrow? Then you could get a wheel cylinder kit and fix it yourself. Don't know how much time you have though... I agree that a tow would be the safest bet. I sure wouldn't want to drive it
