Wheelersoffroad.com has 4runner 5100s for 168 a pair and tundra 5100s for around 200. I have a set of the 4runner struts (D558) on their way to me from them now.

Vise grips is a good thought. A dremel would be really far down on my list of tools to try because of the likelihood of screwing up the threads. A nut splitter would achieve the same result with almost no chance of buggering up the threads.

Yes, 265/75 Grabber At2s, followed by tundra front brakes and the tundra/lc coil lift with tundra 5100s. I'll probably do the deckplate mod pretty soon, and maybe the ISR mod. This will be a slow project though, since I don't have a ton of cash to throw at it all at once.

Are all 3rd gen frames the same, or are there differences between auto/manual, 2wd/4wd, etc. frames? For example, would a 97 2wd 4cyl manual frame be a direct swap into a 2002 limited 4wd?

I've been lurking here for a little while soaking up some good info about 3rd gens and thought it was time to sign up. I bought my first 4runner (1988 DLX 5 spd) in 2004, and my second one on Sunday (2000 SR5 5 spd). I still have this one, but it languishes in my garage awaiting my attention...

It's the rear window lock-out switch. My '88 has the same set up.
