    Rust

1)No help from Toyota. 2)Local welder won't touch it and says to scrap it. 3)Friend that repairs Caterpillar equipment says it's done This stinks. Who cares how good of an engine/transmission Toyota puts in the SUV if the frame rusts away to nothing.

    Rust

I have owned it since day one. Do you suggest I call local dealer or corporate offices. Thanks.

    Rust

Here is a pic from the front passenger side of my 2004 4Runner. It looks like a suspension bracket came apart from the rusted frame along the weld. This doesn't look good. Tow truck driver and friend with welding experience said the truck is now scrap metal. Rust is throughout the frame...

Small, portable compressor for airing up at beach

It may not work with your budget but the powertank.com regulators are great for the beach. I have an original tank from them along with a used CO2 tank bought on Ebay. The regulator is the key though. Can't skimp on that as that is what makes the setup so good. I have been using a powertank...

Softball blows out rear window (slider). Where to buy?

I had a compressor in the back that rocked back into the window. Results = 1000 little bits of glass. I got it done thru safelite. I think it was about $250 and they came right to the house. Two thumbs up from me. I also used them for front windshield on my Honda Accord.

    Pressure Monitoring Valve Stems

That's what I did and the more I think about it the more I like the idea of not having to spend the big buck$$ and not having to worry about replacing them again. Sometimes the new technology isn't better.

    Pressure Monitoring Valve Stems

One of my valve cores was bent so much that I could not fill it without forcing things with a screwdriver or key. Another valve core would have the tendency to not sit right and slowly leak air. If you played with that one it eventually held air. Decided to take it to 2 tire shops and both...

    Timing Belt

Was quoted $380 for a timing belt in my 04 Sport V8. Once under the hood, they would check other belts, hoses and water pump. I know for my Honda Civic, they wanted to replace pump no matter what. Appears for Toyota, more of a wait and see. Thoughts on price and other "optional" work...

    How Deep?

We have been getting hit with some pretty bad rain in North Jersey the last few weeks. One of the storms left many roads flooded with nightmare traffic. I saw many cars floating away and others stalled with water up to the windows. I have a 2004 Sport. Just how deep can I safely go into these...

    My Homelink Stinks!

Two big advantages for me. 1) Range. I can start the opener from down the block rather than in the driveway. 2) Looks - much cleaner look than a clip to the visor. For those that are not seeing the range improvement, did you change the battery in the remote before programming. It makes a...

    Expensive Washer Fluid

In Jersey, the gas stations usually charge alot for the regular washer fluid. I think they assume you are only buying it because you are in dire need. I will keep my eyes open and load up next time it is on sale.

    Expensive Washer Fluid

I am totally out of washer fluid so while I was in Target yesterday, I grabbed 2 bottles and was shocked to see them ring up at $1.99 each. These were just the regular blue gallons of washer fluid. I thought just a touch over $1 each was the normal sale price. Target is usually very...

Aftermarket seat heaters; and they fill the blanks too!

I have cloth seats. I pulled off the hog ties from the seats. I then forced the heating elements into place without removing the entire cover. I then used plastic pull ties to replace the hog ties.
