So would it be a better idea to swap in the ECU & wiring harness from a 2000 4runner 4x4 M/T? I would think the harness and ECU from a manual 4runner would swap in without any issues but I could be wrong. I dont plan on keeping the A/T ECU since it would likely be easier to pursue other options.

Hi everyone, so today I was trying to remove my starter relay to test it, and upon pulling the tab back that locks it in, I realized the relay would not budge at all, and I am not sure why. I cannot find anything else holding the relay in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i agree with importman, try cleaning the MAF sensor. a dirty MAF sensor can jack up your air/fuel mixture and cause hesitation, misfire, rough idle, basically not what you want. if that doesn’t solve the hesitation issue, i would pull the injectors and clean them out since they get dirty over...

My guess would be that your issue is a fuel injector. If the issue was an ignition coil, you would have a misfire on cylinders 4 and 1 since the cylinder 1 coil supplies power to the cylinder 4 spark plug using a wire. its called a wasted spark system. i would pull the injectors and clean them...
