What is an '06 4Runner with over 500K worth?

I think the price is way high. I just bought a clean 06 limited V8 4WD with 215K miles for $5500, and it was from a dealer.

    DRL LED Modification

here is a pic with all four DRLs on. The LED looks blurry in the pic because it's very bright, but it's actually very clear and nice.

    DRL LED Modification

I bought my lights a while ago, and I don't see a current listing for the exact ones I used. There are a lot of similar ones out there at this time. No, I did not do the DRL mod, so when I turn on my DRLs both the factory and LED lights are on. I will add a picture as requested above.

    DRL LED Modification

I wanted some daytime LED running lights on my 04 4Runner like the newer vehicles, so I thought of this easy mod. I purchased a pair of 6-light LED bars on Ebay for about $4 for the pair including shipping. The lights are 6 inches wide and 3/4 of and inch high and come with attached red and...

    Preowned 4Runner beats new hybrid

I think you may have left out a couple of factors. First is what is the cost of additional money being tied up in the higher purchase price for the newer vehicle? Second is what is the residual value of the two vehicles at the end of the comparison period. So purchase price minus residual...

    Road or Drive-line Noise

I would say it could be a wheel bearing. Mine acted the same and my mechanic who drove it and was fairly certain it was a front wheel. I took it to the dealer who used a stethoscope to determine it was the right rear wheel bearing. Fixed now and the constant drone sound is now gone.

    4th gen 4Runner Secrets?

Not sure if this is a secret, but if your rear defogger or rear wiper sometimes doesn't work, check to make sure your rear window is ALL the way up. Neither function will work if the rear window isn't completely closed.

    Engine bay splashguard replacement

I replaced mine using the bottom part (rubber) of an old welcome mat that had carpet-like material on top. Just separate the carpet from the rubber, and use the rubber. You could also use any kind of cargo mat.

    Transmission rumble solution?

My mechanic also swears by the Dr. Tranny product, but my question remains... Is it possible the shudder felt at 45-50mph could be caused by a failing pinion gear in rear end?

    Transmission rumble solution?

Like many of you, I too had the transmission rumble strip feeling in the 40-50 mph range on my 2004 SR5/V8,4WD with 130k miles. Recently, I was told by the Toyota dealer that my right rear wheel bearing needed to be replaced, and dealer cost was about $800. I took it to my regular trusted...

Best Quick Struts for City / Highway Driving?

After getting the KYB front shocks/springs and rear shocks installed, the 4R rides smoother than before. I seems to steer smoother and takes bumps better without the sideways jar I was getting. The ground to fender height increased by 3/4 inch in the front and 1/4 inch in the rear. Overall...

Best Quick Struts for City / Highway Driving?

I too was looking for stock replacement shocks for my 2004 SR5 V8 with 125K miles. I decided on KYB shock/spring assemblies (front) and shocks (rear) which are being installed on Friday. I will provide an update after the install. Part numbers are: SR4130 (front right) SR4131 (front left)...
