    Gas mileage

    3 inch lift + 285's + E rated M/T = 16 mph on Highway. City driving, I try not to.

4Runner 5th Gen - Last of the Dinosaurs

Absolutely. A refreshed version is needed. All I ask of Toyota would be get rid of that fugly front end and replace with a new version with round headlights. Otherwise the Runner is a reliable hammer.

MT Hybrid tire - Cooper STT MAXX, Toyo RT Or....?

The dreaded search for new tires. Never as fun as one would think it would be, LOL Here is my 2 cents worth. Never ran the Toyos can't help you there. Did you mean ST/Maxx or STT PRO ? I ran both. The St/maxx, (285/ 70 /17) I was not as happy as I thought I would be. I feel the tires did a sub...

    Rear coil springs

After 8 years , the 2" Super flex coils sagged over an inch. I know all springs sag but that's more than I thought it would. I need to raise the rear back up. I'm getting ready to spring on a new pair of springs. Just wondering which 2"rear coil springs you Guys and Gals put on your rig and are...

    Anyone had a Bilstein failure?

Had the same thing happen. In my case I agree with Foques. I was dogging it in my 2011 Trail and I know I over extened way past the ability for that shock. Don't mean to hijack your thread but Replaced with another set of 5100's and ended up blowing one side on the back. Not a happy camper with...

BFG All-Terrain T/A KO2 went on sale today

Sounds like the AT3 will do you fine. Great tire for the Highway. Had zero complaints with them in the rain and snow. If you said you spent more time off road, I would say go with a more agressive tread. That's the only reason i swapped them out for the Cooper ST Maxx

Just bought a 2015 Trail Premium. What should my first upgrades be?

Move the exhaust to side. Fairly cheap to do. Makes a huge difference if you like riding with your rear window open.

Going Bigger - 5th Gen Tire Fitment Guide

Have a 2011 Trail running with that same set up with 285/70/ 17 Cooper ST Max and having no rubbing issues and no chop. You will need to upgrade your uca's to keep your alignment within spec. I'm using LR uca. Do your self a favor and save yourself some time. When doing the rear throw ( I'm...

    Popping and Vibrations???

If all else fails, you might want to check out your lower control arm bushings. I had similar sounds coming from my 2011 trail except the clicking sound was not constant but all of the rest of the symptons you stated were there.

    Toytec lift help

Truthfully those spanner wrench's suck. Go to Home Depot and buy a 4 inch pipe wrench and a smaller pipe wrench. I found it to be a lot easier to turn because you have better leverage. Trust me they are not that easy to move after having them on for a while. it will leave marks on the aluminium...

Rear Window Trim/Cover Plate Part Name?

I don't know any thing about the installation or where to find instructions. I knew where to look for the part number because it was on the same page as the back up camera I replaced. ( I put a branch through it when turning around on a tight wooded trail. Odds of that happening, million to one.)

Rear Window Trim/Cover Plate Part Name?

It's called an applique panel. Part# for left side is 7581635020

    Flat tow or trailer?

According to the owners manual, (2011 Trail ) you are never to tow your 4Runner with the tires making contacting the ground.

Don't be afraid to go to the " E " side.

To make a long story short, I was wheeling, went through a puddle and managed to hit the only rock within a thousand yards. Punctured the side wall. I decided to go with the Copper AT3 LT285-70-17. After driving on them for the last month and a half, I have to say this is one of the best things...
