    Intermittent Clutch Chatter

As the title says, I get clutch chatter but only once in a while. When it is humid out my truck shifts very smoothly, sometimes when not humid I can work the clutch out just right to not get it to chatter but many times I will let the clutch out and my shift stick will shake uncontrollably and...

V6 or V8 AWD - Gas Mileage Sensitive

Thank you everyone so far for the replies, I tried doing a little searching of my own on the gas mileage difference but wasnt coming up with much on google and this forum. I was probably using the wrong key words (AWD) but if the full time 4WD is very similar to the 3rd gens then I think I...

No start or click. No power to starter relay!???

Well, got it to work. We tested the relay with some wire and the battery so we knew that was fine, then tested the starter the same way and that worked. So we tried looking under the dash and started unplugging and plugging things in and out and eventually it worked. Not exactly happy that we...

http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/111492-random-engine-idle-solution.html See if this helps, this is my post from a while back. You could try this and your PCV valve. Both are cheap to replace.

    Random Engine Idle Solution

I figured I would do a quick write up on how I solved my random engine idle problem. Problem: Engine would jump from 750rpm's to 2500rpm's and anywhere in between then drop back to normal and continue to do that for a while. Solution: Engine Temperature Sensor was bad. After market price was...

Replacing mater cylinder in parking lot - impossible?

I am considering replacing my master in the parking lot at college, the shifting is getting bad and we have narrowed down our options and it seems that I need a new master and possibly a new slave. Is this impossible (or highly unlikely) to do in a parking lot with a set of wrenches...
