Transmission swap question

Was looking to switch my manual for an auto till I started reading things about also having to change the ECU and wiring harness. If anyone knows please provide input. As far as why I am swapping, well several reasons one being I am sick of city driving with a standard. This is my third vehicle with a standard and to me its just getting old and frustrating especially in traffic. Thanks for any input!

Going the opposite way can often be done with out TOO much work, but yes with a computer controlled auto trans, there will be more to swap than just the trans. Unless you have a LOT of custom work into your current truck, you are probably better off selling and buying an auto.

Sell your manual to someone that appreciates it, buy an auto since they are everywhere and probably cheaper.

Yeah manuals are rare, autos are everywhere. Be easier and cheaper to sell your manual and buy a auto... dont know why anyone would want to do that though
