I don't know why, but i never thought of just reusing the drain plug with the nut welded on, you didn't have have issues with the thread or anything? I think that is what i will do, thanks for the idea!

Speaking of head gasket. Does anyone have a link to a good write up that is as informative as possible on it? I have tried searching but haven't found too much. I am trying to decide if this is something I should dare even consider trying myself with very limited experience

The frame looks good to me. But my opinion doesn't count being from minnesota everything is rusted!

Just by updating the receiver you should notice better sound quality. I added an aftermarket sub and amp. Keep in mind, depending on what your rms watts is if you add a new sub, you may need to get an amp to go along with it.
