That is the spring I used. I am pretty sure I got a pack of them at Lowes but it might have been Home Depot.
That's how I mounted mine. It's been idling fine for over a year now.
I did the washer mod as well but it eventually started idling high again. I used a light helper spring as well to pull it closed. Pedal still feels the same as before, no extra resistance from the spring.
