Maybe an exhaust leak that closes up when the engine gets hot? No check engine light or anything like that, I take it?

Has anyone used the rotors from RockAuto - thanks DC runner for the site, btw. They look to be really affordable, any comments?

Could always try taking a rubber mallet to the case ... might loosen things up a bit - I've seen this work on seized parts before, but don't go crazy now. Good luck!!

Does anyone know for sure if any of the 4th gen brake booster assemblies (and master cylinder assembly for that matte) will work on an 08 4Runner? I need a new one and found a pretty good price on a 2005 (both trucks are v6's, if it matters). Thanks!!

Maybe check your plugs to see if they are gaped(sp?) properly or if one of them shows signs of misfire or something like that. If it were something like this could upgrade plugs to better metallurgy. I would have thought that if the knock was really that bad that the sensor would throw a code...

Just wanted to bump this one back up. Are you getting like a squeaking noise - especially right after the booster pump shuts off? This noise should only last a few seconds. I've done a lot of searching on this and seems to be somewhat of a known issue (across Toyota even: LX470 Squeal around...
