    Tires and towing

I wasn't sure if your request for pictures was directed to me or to mailman69. Since I haven't been on the Trans-Labrador Highway yet, I don't have pictures from there, but I do have pictures online from our Newfoundland trip and others. Here is the website: Travel Pics by Mike & Pam The...

    Tires and towing

I haven't checked in here in awhile, but I'm glad I did. I was looking at that hotel in Red Bay. We plan on trying to visit Battle Harbor for a night or 2, and that looked like a good place to stay before going to get the 11 am boat from Mary's Harbor to Battle Harbor. The return boat is at 9...

    Tires and towing

Thanks for the return. We have a reason for going to Argentia instead of Port aux Basques. A few years ago, we traveled to Newfoundland with a minivan and a small folding trailer. We took the ship to Argentia, toured a lot of the island and returned via Port aux Basques. We saw a lot of the...

    Tires and towing

Thanks for your reply. We are not planning on taking the trailer for a couple of reasons. Our plan is to drive to Sydney Mines in Nova Scotia and take the ferry to Argentia, Newfoundland. Then we will tour Newfoundland a little before taking the ferry from St. Barbe to Blanc Sablon, where we...

    Front hitch and bike rack

Thanks. I was aware of those, but we tow a trailer that weighs about 4,000 lbs with a 400 lbs hitch weight. We need (and use) a weight distributing hitch with sway control. That eliminates doubling things up on the rear. That is why I went to the front option.

    Front hitch and bike rack

I have a 2011 SR5 with no suspension mods. I needed to be able to carry bikes while also towing a travel trailer. Putting the bikes on the roof was not an option, so I opted for a Curt front mounted hitch and a hitch mounted bike rack. I purchased the hitch from etrailer. The installation...

    Tires and towing

I recently installed Michelin LTX M/S2 265/70R17 Load range E tires on my 2011 SR-5, and I thought I would contribute my experience. I went with the Load range E because we tow a trailer, and because we are planning a trip along the Trans-Labrador Highway next year, for which 10 ply tires are...

    4th Gen towing mirror options

Review of JR and Tow-N-See mirrors Since this thread ended without an answer about JR towing mirrors, and because I decided to try a pair, I thought I'd respond to it. Before getting to the JR mirrors, I'll describe our experience with another towing mirror, the Tow-N-See. We have a 2011 SR-5...
