Thank you for advise-I will connect alligator clips to mini compressor wires to attach to battery
Puzzled -- I had a 99 chevy astro and ran mini compressor many times from socket and never a problem
As advised on site I removed washer on rear of lighter bypassing burned fusible link
My lighter now works?
My concern is I no longer have a fusible protecting from a possible overload from a compressor drawing high amps.
Does anyone know if the 15 amp lighter fuse will prevent permanent damage...

Thank you I will do .
In case the lighter needs replacing do you know how to
remove the plastic dash trim to gain access to back of lighter.
I fear without proper instructions I will crack or break plastic.
