My guess would be there is a problem with the sensor. We have a work truck that has had a sensor go bad multiple times. The dealer or a trusted tire shop should be able to figure it out.

Did you purchase your 4Runner used? Both of those chimes should be standard, but they can both be disabled with Carista. If you purchased used, the previous owner could have turned them off. Your headlights should also turn off after a minute or a double click of the lock button on the key.

You used the word “slowly” to describe how you shift into 4WD. My suggestion is to pull back on the lever in a very quick motion. Going slow increases the chance of grinding in my experience. Neutral torque and firmness are good.

I use OBD Fusion to monitor transmission temps when towing. I purchased the Toyota PID package. Temp 1 is in the pan. Temp 2 is in the torque converter. I’ve never looked at the timing.

You can adjust your settings and have navigation use 1/2 of the screen or the whole screen if that’s what you prefer.

That’s normal. Don’t make sharp turns on pavement when in 4WD.

This is pretty much what I’ve seen when monitoring temps. I don’t see 200 or above unless I’m towing in hilly terrain. I don’t recall ever seeing more than 215. I do not use 5th gear when towing.

My rear garnish got loose a year or so ago. I went in and tightened it up before any of the nuts started rattling around. Don’t remember the size. I’m pretty sure the bolts for the garnish are held captive in that piece, so that shouldn’t be the source of the bolt. I could be wrong, but that’s...
