i tracked down the OWM part # 90980-11078. However it lists it as 96-00 and not for 2002. But...there's no replacement otherwise listed on the parts pages. and our fuel sending unit looks the exact same so it must be that one.

that's what i did when i replaced the pump, used the same "sending assembly" that's something to consider as well. wouldn't be a bad idea to replace it either way, can't be too expensive

With the higher resting RPM it seems to be ok for now. I pre-emptively ordered a new MAF sensor since the other one is original from '02. While the fuel pump tested high, i am doubting it's effect since it's 5 years old vs 23 yrs old like the MAF. I've driven it now for 3 days including...

Okay, I did a bit more testing today. The mass air flow sensor resistance is 1.87 khms and the spec in the manual is 2.2 to 2.7 so that's low. The voltage does fluctuate as it should when the power is on so that part is okay. For the throttle body itself, the motor sounds like there might be...

Well the EFI relay was fine when tested. What other relays could it be? That's the only one I know of that involves fuel delivery

Just got it back home. At idle I'm at 700 rpm parked and 590-595 in gear so it seems ok. I'll disassemble tomorrow and see things

Looks like new ones are 400-450 that's not awful. But used yes is available for 175. I wonder if knowing there's no gunk at all is worth the extra 200 or so. My inclination is yes

maybe i'll take apart the whole throttle body (the plate itself isn't dirty) and just seafoam the hell out of it. When I hear the mechanic tell me something i know isn't true it really makes me mistrust them which is why i do 99% of my own work.

got called back this morning. Didn't die for them all day yesterday. I mentioned the low speed thing and he thinks its the IAC valve being gummed up and recommended a seafoam treatment for $200, vs replacing IAC for $700. But....2001/2002 don't have a IAC valve unless I'm mistaken. I thought...
