I got a kit for my runner from Rostra, the universal 250-1870 model. It came with wiring harnesses and plugs intended to make things simple.
The harnesses make sense. The two pigtails from the seat mats go into one.
The relay harness connects to the seat junction. The switch goes tot he relay. fine. There's a free black and red wire. The instructions say to connect red to an accessory 12 volt circuit 7.5 amps. For most people it seems they go for the cigarette lighter circuit as thats 15 amp. great, for two seats that jives with me.black to ground, wonderful.
It also comes with a thicker gauge red cable with an inline fuse. That is not mentioned at all. It's also not mentioned how to connect the 7.5 amp. I've seen videos of people using add-a-circuit fuse taps into the kick panel fuse box. one fuse would be the original, the new for your heater. But with that, i would need two of those, one for each seat. And if that's fused, what's the point of the fat inline fuse line? Does it go to the battery? it's far too short so i'd have to splice it with another line. The instructions seem incomplete. And every video is not clear at all as to where the power actually goes. they just film "behind the dash it's in there"
