Broken Distributor cap! Guess that makes sense.. couldn't see it until it was off, #3 was broken under the connection.

Everything is worth ruling out, for sure. Thank you for the reply. Thanks to the headers I can at least pinpoint it down to it being on the odd bank, 1,3,5. Sucks that the upper plenum is over that valve cover.. It may all come apart this weekend.

I'm currently shopping for a 2nd gen front and rear replacement. I like the look of this and would love to get it at the ballpark price the OP mentioned. Also hunting for a rear tire carrier that doesn't look wonky but still provides coverage up to the fender well.
