I have a 2003 SR5 with 17" wheels and plan to replace the front brakes including the rotors/pads and calipers. Since this vehicle could have either the 319 or 338mm installed, would it make any difference if I just replace everything with the 319mm components?

Yes, I do. And you're right, from everything I've read the blinking light is not an indication of the system needing service as far as flush/fill is concerned. It only blinks when the compressor fails to engage for some reason or another.....

Thanks for the feedback. Answers to your questions, in order: My 4R has 60k miles, so I assume the transmission does, too (bought the car used a couple years ago). The fluid was not purple, not brown, but somewhere in-between. It didn't smell burnt, just "off". I'm guessing the previous owner...
