V6 owners, how are your water pump holding up?

It was a high-pitch bearing type sound, and seemed to be coming from around the water pump or one of the pulleys.

V6 owners, how are your water pump holding up?

I just had the 120k service done on my '03 v6. While at the dealership they noted one of my valve cover gaskets leaking, so I had them replaced. Twenty miles after I picked up the vehicle, I get the sounds of a water pump failing. Took it back, and sure enough that is their diagnosis. Is...

    4runner Dash....!!!

I know it won't help a cracked dash, but I'll second the vote for the 303 Aerospace protectant. It's not greasy at all, pretty much a matte finish. I use a Swiffer to wipe the dust off the dash from time to time, and use the 303 once or twice a year. I have used the 303 everywhere on my boat...

    radio tuner problem

you're right with the frequencies. If I have it tuned to 100.9, it will change to 100.7 or 101.1. It is completely random. It does not freeze, I can immediately change the channel or hit a pre-set to return to what I was listening to. And it has nothing to do with hitting bumps, as it...

    radio tuner problem

I have an '03 with the JBL sythesis system. As of two weeks ago, when listening to the radio the tuner will randomely tune to the next frequency. Example..if I'm listing to 100.9 the tuner might switch to 100.8 or 101.0 out of the blue. I checked AM and the same thing happens. Has anyone else...

    problems with USA Spec interface?

I spoke with a lady named Judy and also one of their engineers, but I did not write down his name. The engineer said that he is seeing some problems with using the the DF-TOY adapter with Sirius Radio. He said the output from the Sirius unit is too high for the Toyota head unit, thus causing...

    problems with USA Spec interface?

I've been having the same problem with my interface. I can re-set it by unplugging the the auxiliary box from the cable. I mounted the box in my glove compartment so it hasn't been a huge problem, buy it's still a pain. I called USA Spec directly. They are going to take a look at it.

    Ice Link and SIRIUS?

The iPod specific adapter from USA Spec (PA11-TOY) will power your iPod. I don't think it will display any text on your head unit. There are a few ways to power the Sirius unit, which can probably be found in other threads. The way I powered mine was by using an accessory outlet from Radio...

Best way to install Sirius for best sound quality?

You might try a higher quality cable to clean up the sound before ditching the PIE adapter setup. A ground loop isolator from Radio Shack can eliminate engine and electrical noises as well. Sirius does not sound CD quality no matter what how clean your connection is. FM quality sound with no...

    Ice Link and SIRIUS?

If the Icelink has two sets of inputs, you should be in good shape for connecting both the iPod and Sirius. I believe most or all of the auxiliary input devices connect to the headunit through the CD changer port. I have the USA Spec auxiliary adapter ($60) with two sets of inputs. USA Spec...

Best way to install Sirius for best sound quality?

I forgot to mention that Radio Shack has the inexpensive ($8-10) mini to rca cables, if you're trying to keep the budget down.

Best way to install Sirius for best sound quality?

Yeah, that's pretty much it. You need a cable that has a mini-pug on one end and rca's at the other. I tried to go with a high quality cable to get the best sound possible. I've heard of some people having interference and engine noise issues with the $8 cables. Monster has a cable for...

Best way to install Sirius for best sound quality?

I have the single disc JBL synthesis in my '03 4runner. I hooked up Sirius using the USA-Spec auxiliary box ($60) which was fairly easy to do with the dash removal instructions found in the other forums. The sound is a lot better with this hard wire option versus using the FM methods...

    XM MyFi in 04 SR5

I installed Sirius in my '03 4runner the other day. I used the USA-Spec auxiliary box. It has two sets of inputs, so you can also have a direct connection for an I-pod. You plug the USA-Spec box into the CD changer port on the back of your head unit and run a RCA-to-mini jack line from the...

Got Sirius for X-mas, not time to install. Question though...

Another easy way to do it is get the $7 accessory outlet from Radio Shack as described above. Then go to Pep Boys (or equivalent) and buy an 'Add-a-Circuit'. This can be found in the area with fuses. Be sure to get the mini size, as that is the fuse size for the latest 4runners. Plug the...
