Port not releasing Tundras or 4Runners?

I've had dealers randomly make stuff up. When I bought my Silverado in 2011 I mentioned to the sales guy that I was excited to find a truck in stock with the factory trailer brake controller as for some absurd reason, it can't be added after the fact. He proceeded to tell me how I was wrong...

Port not releasing Tundras or 4Runners?

The recall only applies to the trucks with blind spot monitoring (the ones with the painted rear bumper). Every article I've seen just mentions potential weakening after a collision, not just stepping on it. The dealer is probably just making up stuff, as usual. 2016 and 2017 Toyota Tundra...

Is it okay to use 4WD Hi on dry pavement?

A dirt road will be fine as it isn't a "tractive" surface and it'll allow wheel slip in corners.

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

That's likely some sort of autonomous car engineering mule. I used to see them often when I lived in Michigan. The dome is some sort of laser scanning terrain mapping device and there are pairs of cameras everywhere to allow the computer to see three dimensionally.

    2018 Sequoia is Refreshed

I realize they get cross shopped a bunch but they're entirely different vehicles. I have a Wrangler now and am counting down the days till I can get into a 4R. Chrysler is incapable of building anything with quality. I might have just joined here but I've been reading posts for close to a year...

Port not releasing Tundras or 4Runners?

These things happen somewhat often. I used to be a tech at a Hyundai dealership and you'd get a batch of cars that had some silly little thing wrong like one of these was a hose clamp that needed to be rotated but those cars were under a stop sale till it was done.

Totally unfair question - silver vs grey

The gray would be my choice because I want a Trail/TRD Offroad and while I like silver, the fact the silver would make the center bumper trim not stand out on those models would bother me. A bit absurd I realize, but I like the two-tone look.

    Rear backup sensors

Seriously doubt it. Base models don't even have wires for the auto dim mirror inside or outside turn signal mirrors. And this is beyond simple wiring, these will require some sort of control module other trims almost certainly won't have.

5th Gen Poll Results - Perceived Problems

I'd love to post these on the Wrangler forum I'm a member of currently. The Jeep was fun when I didn't have a commute but it's a damn turd. Been losing coolant since 23k miles. A new radiator, a "tightened" hose (they added a zip tie to what was originally a compression fit) and now at 29k it...

    3D Printed Key tag

I don't have any real experience/knowledge with 3D printers so I apologize if this is a silly question but are those rigid plastic or are they rubbery? It looks sick but I'd worry about it breaking the first time I put it in my pocket.

    Who Uses the Parking Brake?

I've never had a parking brake freeze up on anything I've owned. I use my parking brake on anything but totally flat ground. It's probably just Toyota covering their butt. I wouldn't let temperature dictate use of the parking brake if you're on a hill.

    2018 Sequoia is Refreshed

The size thing wouldn't really be an issue for me. I live/work in a rural area so most parking lots and such are truck friendly (though when I had my Silverado I had to take it into Boston for a business appointment and had to make three point turns at every corner of a parking garage. That got...

    2018 Sequoia is Refreshed

I was also surprised at how little got changed. I'm still a bit on the fence between a 4Runner and Tundra so I was watching this unveiling to see if it'd be worth holding off till the fall to buy but they haven't done anything to the Tundra that would make me want the 2018 over a 2017. If the...

Cargo Area Storage - Trunk and Security

I think you intended to quote chitown40 and not me here but my thought is if it fits vertically against the wheel well and doesn't cover the tie down hooks, I'd mount some sort of tie down to the case at both ends and run an individual strap to each anchor point. Or against the seatback and...

Cargo Area Storage - Trunk and Security

This is fantastic. In my Jeep currently I've been using saddle bags that fit above the wheel wells and have been poking around looking for a large duffle or similar for the 4Runner (buying in a month or two hopefully). This seems like a much better solution, especially making it so you can use...
