You are totally correct. I looked more closely and there were chrome trim pieces glued on to all the door handles. I pulled them off and it looks soooo much better.

Plasti Dip Door Handle Test
Test went pretty well, but the coverage on the back side of the handle was a problem. I pulled the dip off and will try again this weekend.
