Plasti Dip Door Handle Test

Test went pretty well, but the coverage on the back side of the handle was a problem. I pulled the dip off and will try again this weekend.

Could you do me a favor, and take a pic of the side at a further distance. I want to see the handles against the whole truck.

Edit: I noticed you said you've pulled it off. Maybe tag me when you redo it I'd like to see it.

I didn't take the picture you are mentioning because it showed the top of the handle peeling. I will post this weekend after I redo it.

I did not think the Limited model came with chrome door handles. I have a 2006 V8 Limited with color-keyed grill and color-keyed door handles.

I put a small socket in the door handle to hold mine open a little to be able to get more coverage. It was still a little thin, so I sprayed some into the lid and applied with a brush to make it a thicker coat.

the handles really looks good against the white, even though storm tropper scheme had been everywhere but chrome imo looks ugly.

I have a similar truck, what are your plans for it? Engine? Body? Lift? Lights? Racks? Radio upgrade?

I'm looking for projects to give me something to do.

These came in the mail yesterday. Raingler Cargo Net and WeatherTech cargo liner. My dog kept climbing over the rear seat. Not anymore .

You are totally correct. I looked more closely and there were chrome trim pieces glued on to all the door handles. I pulled them off and it looks soooo much better.

Did the cargo area change from 2006 to 2008? My weathertech extends all the way to the sides near the lip of the door and does not leave the tie downs exposed. Also, are those plastic pieces surrounding the tie-down points?

yea...i have the same in my 08 4runner. If I were to do it again, I would remove the double deck cargo system and get the other weathertech floor mat. I am not a big fan of how much area is left exposed by the floormat
