Pissed at the dealership, more pissed at myself...

I know this has been a few months ago since you had your VSC problems. I would assume the lights never came on again. I've had my VSC lights and check engine lights on for quite a while now. First diagnosis was an evap leak (went to my Toyota mechanic and Toyota dealer). Both had the same...

VSC and Engine lights are on

Thanks msanta for your reply. It's been a while since this happened and I've just been waiting for after the holidays to get it fixed. From the info I got from this forum, I was going to give it to the dealer to figure out. Your situation sounds exactly like mine as far as the panel lights...

VSC and Engine lights are on

By the way, I forgot to mention I had the rotors replaced because I guess I'm a bit hard on my brakes. When I'd apply the brakes at a high speed, the brakes were quite bouncy. So, now it's a smooth ride again.

VSC and Engine lights are on

I appreciate both of your feedbacks about this problem. It seems in both of your situations your VSC lights came on due to the sulfur problem which in turn causes the ECU to be reprogrammed in the process. I guess I'm puzzled because the very first time any lights at all came on, all three...

VSC and Engine lights are on

In your situation, did you have the Sulfur TSB done because your engine light came on and as a result of that your VSC lights came on?

VSC and Engine lights are on

Re: Re: Re: check engine and VSC light I have NO IDEA why the VSC lights are coming on when the engine light is coming on. I've taken it to my Toyota mechanic and they came up with an evap leak. they cleared the codes and the lights went out. After 200 miles of driving, they came on again...

VSC and Engine lights are on

Re: check engine and VSC light Did you actually have the VSC light AND the engine light on at the same time? Did the dealer say that you had an evap leak when they did the diagnostic test? I thought my problems were gone because the lights went out, but as of just this Sunday, they came on...

    engine check light on...HELP

In your case, maybe the engine light came on because the gas cap wasn't on tight enough. Be sure to turn it several clicks to be sure it is on tight. How many miles have you driven since the light went out when you reset the battery? Unfortunately, I don't know about the vibration aspect...

    engine check light on...HELP

Thanks for your input. I'm going to give this info to my mechanic to see what he says/thinks. I will certainly see if this can be covered by warranty - I've always taken it to the dealer while under warranty for service. I'm a bit over the 36,000 mile warranty, but I'll give it a try. So...

VSC and Engine lights are on

Has anyone had any problems with their VSC panel light coming on? Ever had a VSC light come on with the engine light? I have a problem that not even the dealer can figure out.

    engine check light on...HELP

The dealer said the code was 446 which is an evaporative emission leak. They did a smoker test and no leaks were found. My question is after the codes were cleared and the lights came back on - each time - the VSC lights come on with the engine light. VSC has nothing to do with an emission...

    engine check light on...HELP

I have a 2002. I think it has an OBDII computer, but not positive. I would imagine with a newer model, it would have a more current computer. I've taken it to a Toyota dealer as well as my Toyota mechanic. Both instances the light came back on after they cleared the codes. I only have...

    engine check light on...HELP

I hope that was the problem and it is now fixed. But I must forewarn you, I'm going through a "check engine" problem myself as we speak. Even though your engine light went out, disconnecting the battery is a quick fix, but it doesn't necessarily reset the computer. In order to reset the...
