I was suggesting the 1GR-FE (w/newer 6-speed) for the LC250 only for the relative simplicity and proven reliability/durability. To many, that is integral to the LC brand. I’m not saying the new turbo’d hybrid i4 will not be durable or reliable, but it certainly isn’t proven in the eyes of many...
I feel like this engine/tranny combo should have been offered in the new LC250 with the hybrid as a higher-cost option. If it’s good enough for a 5900 lb LC300, it’s good enough for the 250. I think it would lend more credibility that the new LC is legit and lives up to its name especially with...
You’ll be able to get the iForce Max in the 4Runner, but it’s likely only available in the top trim(s) which will overlap or be very close to overlapping with the base price of the LC250 1958 trim. You’ll have the choice of a loaded 4Runner or a base model LC250 for about the same price.
Yeah, not too impressed especially with the front end. I like the new GX much better. Now I am waiting if this LC has something to offer not available on the GX.
I really hope there aren’t a bunch of lame trim levels for this Land Cruiser. There should just be Land Cruiser and Land Cruiser Premium trims that both come equally kitted out for off-road readiness, e.g. 4x4, rear locker, ATRAC, etc.. The base should come equipped like a 4Runner SR5 with cloth...
We’ll see how the entire BOF SUV Toyota/Lexus lineup shakes out, but to me it would have made the most sense to do:
MY2023+ Lexus LX600 as-is lux model.
MY2024+ Lexus GX550 as already unveiled (I love it).
MY2024+ Toyota Land Cruiser J300 total stripper model with off-road goodies as offered in...
While I don’t think this front end is very handsome regardless of the headlight shape, it does at least appear that the lower half easily detaches for a steel off-road bumper - perhaps even one available as a factory/dealer installed option. I count that as a major win!
