I have an 03 with the V8. I just changed the Bank 1, Sensor 1 02 sensor (Denso 234-4138). Unhooked the battery for about a minute. The check engine light and VSC lights are all off now, but the vehicle will barely idle (approx 400 rpm). Even to start it I have to give it a little gas or it...

So actuator is still leaking. Called 2 dealers and got a $950 and a $1550 quote. Difference is one quoted 8 hrs and the other 15 hrs. Anyone know the definitive answer as far as hours for this job?

i got my 03 v8 sport in 06 with 47k miles for $24k. Do they really hold their value that well?

So after asking on some other forums, i was told it may take a little bit of time for the ECU to relearn settings after a battery swap. My only drive this week have consisted of 1.5 miles or less to take the kids to school. Drove for about a 30 mile drive today and seems to be fine now.

Update: I haven't had time to check it out yet, but this morning started up fine and ran fine to drive the kids to school. Since it did it yesterday, when i got home I put it in park and revved the engine to around 4k rpm and let off the gas then it went down to real low idle and cut off...

no check engine light never seafoamed

or needing new plugs? I'll check think I'm getting close to being due

mixed driving. mostly around town, but a couple 1000 mile trips a year where we are on the highway. we're in charlotte so not really extreme weather conditions

sorry yeah no snow. those with the Yokos, about how many miles are you getting out of them? I've replaced with stock tires dunlop AT20, but they seem to be wearing out fairly quickly. Well this set actually picked up a bunch of nails/screws

thanks for the replies. like to do things by the book. especially when dealing with a high mileage vehicle that I want to last. I have worked on cars some, but i would definitely not consider myself an experienced mechanic Of course I found that link about an hour after posting this

03 4runner V8 - 130k miles battery was dead replaced last night and it started right up this morning hard start and then died right away. then started up drove kids to school just fine (including turning off and restarting). seemed like it was idling a little low when I got back to the house...

Looking for tire recommendations. Use is 99% street driven. All stock 03 V8 Sport. Looking for something reasonably priced that will last.

I tried searching fo the write up on changing fluids in diffs/transfer case, but couldn't find it. I think I remember specs of 28 ft-lbs for the tranfer case fill / drain plugs. Anyone know?
