Same problem here. My 3rd gen has 344,000 miles on it now and runs as good as anything I've ever owned with a comprehensive service history. Guess I can't blame people for having reservations, but they're missing out on a fine vehicle. All I've received so far are low ball offers.

That is a sad tale and I would not want that to happen to me. If there isn't some way to be assured that my core charge would come back to me, I will shop elsewhere.

Sub Woofer Installed an 8" powered sub woofer that mostly fits under the driver's seat. Installation was the usual deal: disassemble the entire vehicle and route wires in impossible spots after removing plastic panels that break into pieces if you touch them. Turned out OK though.
