Thank you! I thought that was too high too (quote was for both sides, but still too high) and the axle is fine according to the tow truck driver. We have done our 85 before and it was no big deal, just trying to fix long distance is a little trickier haha!

Can anyone tell me which years the rear axle will fit in an 87 without mods? Our daughter moved 300 miles away to school and the rear axle bearing went out. Mechanics quoting $750, which she doesn't have and we don't... so plan to find an axle, pull the bearings and rebuild, then take to her...
