I can't believe the trouble I'm having with this stupid thing. I just to remove the cylinder piece from the plastic bezel in order to replace the broken cap, but I cannot get it out. It looks like it should just push out but it doesn't.

D'oh. This is exactly what I didn't want to hear, but I think I may just take out the damn assembly.. Can anyone confirm whether I need to drain the master cylinder first? Can I disconnect it from the engine bay without messing with the master cylinder? Also, do I need to adjust the clutch...

Lol at what a fiasco this is turning into. Multiple broken bushings and trips to the dealership. Does anyone know a "hack" to get the spring back in while the assembly is still in the vehicle? Also, it looks like I somehow smashed the cruise control switch that's on the pedal, so how do I go...

Thanks guys. This is even more of a headache now.. I was able to get the bushings in, but now cannot get the spring back in for the life of me. The video I watched from Timmy the toolman says the pedal assembly has to be removed to change the spring and I really really don't want to do that.

I'm just more confused after reading this thread. I have a 2000 base model with oak interior. I just bought a couple plastic interior pieces used (seat bolt caps and rear cargo area outlet cover) from a 2001 limited also with oak interior. Now I'm hearing these are 2 completely different...

Thanks for that last post, been trying to figure out what spark plugs I need for a while and I really have no clue about the gap. I ended up ordering some from Amazon and I believe the gap is at .32 so I'm hoping they do the job.
