It took my dealer 5 days to pin down the rattle coming from near the steering column (but sounded like it was outside the firewall). The culprit was the hood release cable scraping in the engine compartment. They solved it by insulating the cable with felt and tightening everything down.

I spent last weekend at Overland Expo at Biltmore Estate and was VERY pleased with the capabilities of the stock Trail model. I (and the instructors) had to work hard to get it stuck, so we could play with the diff lock.
