I did not replace that hose, :/ ...I replaced a hose above it because it was obviously cracked...I will as that makes sense based on where the soot is. That being said, what do you guys think of the cheapo $2.99 PCV at Orilieys? It was all plastic and lightweight compared to the original...

Here's a picture. After taking this picture, I ran seafoam through the truck, and replaced the PCV valve because it looked gross when I pulled it to run the seafoam into the manifold. Please let me know your input! Thank you!

Moreso on the manifold, and some on the throttle body

I looked under the hood today and there's a considerable amount of black soot on the manifold, near the throttle body. Can someone tell me what this is about and the easiest fix? Thank you, Nate

Oh, also they had to replace a vacuum tube and it was to big on one side so it was leaking a little. They also fixed this issue.

My choice to buy this 2000 for 3,000 less than the 04 was that with maybe 1500 I can do everything needed to hopefully make this runner my daily driver up to 300k and I heard there's a 500k club for these things that peeks my interest.

Oh yeah and the serpentine belt (?) squeal is only when it was cold (AZ cold lol) last night.
