I purchased mine with 177k. The advantages with the 03 is that you do not need to worry about the secondary injection pump, and also the tranny has the dip stick

Sorry to revive just an old thread, but do the non VVTI engines also have this problem? I have an 03 V8, wondering if I should be proactive on this. Thanks Jose

Also, i believe you need 17" rims to clear the caliper, so with the SR5 it can be an issue.

One correction though. The larger brakes on the Limited were an option. I had to bend back the dust shield on mine (03 V8 Limited)

So my junkyard axles have arrived. Pulled from a GX470 with about 75k on the odo. They look to be OEM since the boots have the toyota symbol and look identical to the OEM boot kit I purchased. Is there any other tale tale, other then pulling the ones currently installed and compare them? Also...

Is the V6 spare storage compartment different then from the V8?

Thanks for all of the replies, especially the video link! I am leaning towards a reboot. I'm going to try to find a junkyard set, rebuild that one, and then replace mine, and rebuild that one as a spare. If I cant find it, then I will just reboot mine. I guess christmas weekend I will be busy...

Do the 255/75/r17's fit in the spare tire location?
